I have been thinking about this a lot lately. Have you ever walked into a place and think “Wow this is dated’? In today’s society a brand’s image has a huge effect on if we will do business with the them again.
Let’s take a look at one of my favorite guilty pleasure shows, Bar Rescue. For those of you have been living under a rock, John Taffer will go into a bar that is losing money and well, rescue it. Most of the time the bars are run down and the area and demographic around them has changed. John looks at the demographics, the staff, the menu and comes up with a plan that will set the bar up for success. By the end of the episode the entire bar is redone and may even have a new logo and a new name. If the owners stick to John’s plan sales go up.

Times and people are always changing. Opinions of what’s cool are never the same. In order to stay on top, a company has to adapt to the changing times or it will eventually burn out. The point is, be open to new ideas and listen to people. You will be surprised what an open mind can get you.
Below is a link to a Fast Company article that I think sums it up nicely.
